One of the most heavily bombed areas of the country during the sectret war, Phonsavan also has to offer one of the most mysterious sites: the plain of jars.
So far, noone can really explain the use of these thousands of stone jars that you can find almost everywhere around the city. Most likely though, they were used as funeral urns and date back to the Stone Age. Exploring by motorbike was quite a challenge, but also rewarding: beautiful sceneries and lovely people. Unfortunately,there is still a lot of clearing to be done...
