Myanmar- Ngwe Shaung

After so much cultural input, we were in a desperate need for a break. So we headed to the west coast for some “beach-leisure-pleasure-time”. As this part of Myanmar has been opened to foreigners not so long ago, this meant many hours of sitting in bumpy buses, many bus changes and a lot of backache (and belowJ).
But – as you can see on the pictures- it was worth it.
Apart from chilling, we drove through the area on a bike and went for some dives. We wondered if we were the first Luxembourgians ever diving from offshore in Myanmar- the only way to dive in Myanmar until recently was from a liveaboard from Thailand. All in all we got our batteries charged again.

PS. Sailing in the South East Asian  (SEA) Games takes place in Ngwe Shaung only two weeks after our departure. www.27seagames2013.com
