Thailand- Bangkok
The next step f our journey is Thailand. But as we were tired after travelling for many weeks and felt the need to process all these informations and impressions, we decided to settle down for a while and relax. After all we deserved some holiday:-) We chose to stay in Bangkok and enjoyed all the amenities this capital has to offer: nice food, shopping malls, cinemas, embassies (for upcoming visas).... and we enjoyed having beers with our Brazilian friends we met in Malaysia.
As you can imagine, we simply couldn't lay low entirely; so we decided to take some Thai cooking classes. These were very funny moments with very yummy food- and if you behave we might cook for you some day...:-)

Myanmar -around Mandalay
The last day in Mandalay - and in Myanmar- Cheun had to get around on his own because Ronny felt sick. The plan of the day was to explore the surroundings of the ancient capital.
After a short stop in a gold leaf factory, he headed to Amarapura. There he saw many monks getting ready for lunch and what is said to be the longest teak bridge of the world (U Bein’s).
Then he got to Sagaing, the former palace of the king.
Actually these were not the main events of the day. Out of nowhere he and the bikedriver were in the middle of a donation ceremony: the colourful animals and carriages, the festive outfits, the very loud live music...this was the perfect ending of our stay in that amazing country...

Myanmar-Mandalay
Our
last stop in Myanmar is Mandalay, which may be known to some of you from Kipling’s
poem but certainly from Robbie Williams’ song.:-) This former capital of Myanmar is home to a palace and -of course, what else- many temples and monasteries.
After dusk, this city offers also a cultural program: puppet theatre and the show of the well known Moustache brothers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Moustache_Brothers).
