Indonesia- Bali- Candidasa

To recover from all these great experiences, we decided to spend our last days with the family doing something we had not done before: resting. We stayed at a lovely resort in Candidasa and lingered around the pool and the beach. Luckily in between this "farniente" there was also time for a couple of dives (around Liberty wreck), some snorkelling, shopping and of course motorbike-riding :-)

Indonesia- Sulawesi- Tana Toraja

Our next stop was the Tana Toraja region on Sulawesi. After a long trip (2 flights and a very special taxi ride) we arrived in Rantepao from where we wanted to discover the area. On the following day, we were very lucky to take part on a traditional funeral (with slaughtering) which shocked the nieces (and some adults). Some quotes after the celebration were: “ I am becoming a vegetarian”- which we totally understand. We also enjoyed our time in the hills visiting traditional graves and the typical houses with the unique roofs.

Indonesia- Kalimantan – Tanjung Puting National Park

After another flight we arrived on Kalimantan. From here we got to our new home. In fact, we lived on a boat, a klotok, for the next three days. While it smoothly cruised through the channels of the National Park, we enjoyed our time relaxing and most importantly paying a visit to our friends- the endangered Oranutangs. Both kids as adults were amazed by these animals and loved the whole experience. Some places most definitely deserve a second visit! :-)
